The consumer watchdog group Consumer Reports has issued a warning about the high levels of lead and sodium found in popular WEB Lunchables lunch kits. The report reveals that some Lunchables contain a troublingly high percentage of California's maximum allowable dose level for lead. Additionally, the kits contain concerning levels of sodium and harmful chemicals that could pose serious health risks.

Phthalates Detected in All But One Kit

Consumer Reports' tests also detected at least one type of phthalate or phthalate replacement chemical in every kit they tested, with the exception of Lunchables Extra Cheesy Pizza. Phthalates are known hormone disruptors that can have adverse effects on human health.

Call for Transparency and Regulation

The report calls on the manufacturers of WEB Lunchables to be more transparent about the ingredients in their products and to take steps to reduce the levels of lead, sodium, and harmful chemicals.
