South Korea Criticizes Agreement Between North Korea and Russia

Agreement Draws Concern Over Nuclear Technology Exchange

WEB South Korea has sharply criticized the agreement between North Korea and Russia, calling it "sophistic and absurd." The agreement, which was announced earlier this week, has raised concerns that Russia may provide North Korea with technology to bolster its nuclear weapons program in exchange for arms.

Relations between Russia and North Korea have warmed significantly in recent years. Both countries are nuclear powers, and they have been cooperating on a number of issues, including military and economic development. However, the agreement between the two countries has raised concerns among other countries in the region, including South Korea.

South Korea's foreign ministry said in a statement that the agreement "undermines the international order and threatens peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula." The ministry also called on Russia to "reconsider its support for North Korea's nuclear ambitions."

The United States has also expressed concerns about the agreement. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a statement that the agreement "is a clear violation of UN Security Council resolutions." Blinken also said that the United States will continue to work with its allies to "prevent North Korea from acquiring nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles."

The agreement between North Korea and Russia has raised concerns that the two countries may be planning to work together to develop new nuclear weapons. This would be a serious threat to peace and stability in the region.
