Light Trembling Felt Throughout the Region
A magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck Southern California on Friday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The quake occurred at 11:27 a.m. PST, with its epicenter located 114 kilometers deep beneath the ocean surface, approximately 33 kilometers west-northwest of downtown Los Angeles.
The temblor was widely felt across the region, with reports of weak shaking from as far away as San Diego to the south and Santa Barbara to the north. While there were no immediate reports of significant damage or injuries, the quake caused some minor disruptions.
The USGS issued a "green" alert for the earthquake, indicating that there is a low likelihood of significant aftershocks.
